Bail to vets today – for x-ray and sedation. Very stressed by the time we got to Devizes and gums light pink.

We went and had a walk round Devized until they rang us at 1pm to collect him at 2pm.
On collection the nurse said that while the x-rays showed that the bones were coming together they were not healing as fast as they had hoped.

Basil now weighs 36.5Kg and is a little under weight !

We took a woozy dog home and gave him 100g of biscuit, a rich tea biscuit and let him sleep it off.
Around 4pm he had another 150g of dinner – and a toilet break at which point we discovered he was lame in his leg.

Rang McQueens and Ian rang me back – he said probably just a little sore from manipulataion for the x-ray.
Suggested we provide him with a dose of Metacam to provide comfort and call him back if no better tommorrow or Saturday.
