He’s done it again !

Well after the Lateral Suture procedure and then his TPLO a few years ago, Basil was returning from the garden when he pulled up his left rear leg like he’d been shot.
My heart sank but as the vet warned, there is a high statistical correlation on dogs with previous stifle CCL issues going on to rupture their other cruciate ligament.

We took him to the local vets (Longmead) and the vet was able to pretty much confirm the rupture but wanted to do some imaging under sedation to confirm and then suggested a cage and plate TTA which he performed on Thursday the 5th – unfortunately Basil’s Birthday. (We’ll make it up to him.. he can have another Birthday another time like the royal family.)

Basil came home on Friday 6th February with some severe bruising since the vet had to carry out a fairly invasive capsule procedure due to a totally ruptured CCL and a lrge lateral meniscal tear. But the TTA cage implant and titanium plate fitting went very well.

Pics to follow.
